Plastics to Fuel

 

     Some parts of the country already practices turning plastics into fuels like PASSI. PASSI, which was established in 2004 by a group of mechanical engineers, is the only private hazardous waste disposal operator in Cebu. It is a licensed treatment facility for hospital and hazardous wastes which utilizes the autoclaving; a process that destroys infectious organisms through steam and heat pressure to disinfect it.

     The waste is then sealed in receptacles and buried underground. PASSI insists autoclaving or microwave incineration is the only allowed method of disposing hazardous and pathological wastes.
